Associates of Arts in Biblical Studies

The Associates of Arts in Biblical Studies is designed to allow the student to begin their journey toward preparation for Christian service and ministry. This 66-credit hour degree is designed to offer the student the chance to earn an accredited degree in the area of Biblical Studies. It is the entryway into further preparation for Christian ministry and service.

The learning outcomes of the Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies Program are…

  1. To identify and understand basic terms and concepts.
  2. To analyze and evaluate methods, interpretations, and difficulties in biblical studies.
  3. To synthesize and integrate concepts from biblical studies into life, worship, and specific contexts within urban ministry.

The goal for the graduate of the Associates of Arts in Biblical Studies is to continue on to the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, or to actively serve in a leadership position in a ministry environment.

Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies prepares students for entry-level positions in the areas of Christian ministries and service. It also serves as a foundational level of education for entering into a Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. The current program consists of 128-credit hours and provides a well-rounded education, including General Studies hours, enabling our students to actively engage in educated discussions and thought throughout their entire lives.

The learning outcomes of the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies Program are…

  1. To identify and understand basic and intermediate terms and concepts.
  2. To analyze and evaluate methods, interpretations, and difficulties in biblical studies.
  3. To synthesize and integrate concepts from biblical studies into life, worship, and specific contexts within urban ministry.

The educational goal of the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies program is to prepare students for leadership in church settings, mission work, and provide a foundation for continuing education.

Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies

The Master of Arts in Biblical Studies program is a useful degree for full-time Christian service or as a bridge to doctoral work in Biblical and Religious Studies. It is a 66-credit hour Master of Arts program. The program provides the student with an in-depth study involving coursework, research, practicum, internship, and a thesis. The educational goal of the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies program is professional church employment as a pastor or teacher and/or leading to the pursuit of a terminal degree.

The learning outcomes of the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies program are:

  1. To identify and understand intermediate and advanced terms and concepts in the biblical studies discipline.
  2. To analyze and evaluate methods, interpretations, and issues biblical studies discipline.
  3. To synthesize and integrate concepts and habits from the biblical studies discipline into life and worship.

Students can choose from three following concentrations:

  1. Concentration in Old Testament Studies.
  2. Concentration in New Testament Studies.
  3. Concentration in Theology.
