Career Exploration

Career Exploration

If you have become a student without knowing the career path for which you want to prepare, your academic advisor is a good person to utilize to help you explore God’s call and/or direction in your life. There are also some senior administrators willing to help you explore God’s call are available by appointment. The Goldberg Library staff will know these individuals and assist in scheduling a time to meet with the one who is most suited to help you explore your calling and help develop a career path. This assistance is available by appointment for all students and at any stage in your education.

The U.S. Department of Labor may be able to help you decide what type of job you might be best suited for the “My Next Move” https://www.mynextmove.org/explore/ip or https://www.learnhowtobecome.org/career-quiz/. Once you are ready to seek that next move, Career One Stop https://www.careeronestop.org/JobSearch/job-search.aspx provides resources to help you hone your resume, cover letter, references, job applications, and much more. An excellent resume will help open the door for the interview. It must be a step above the average resume and written in such a way that the person assessing it feels that he or she must interview you.
