Our Youth Choir:

They are 12-18 years of age and are committed to practice weekly. Leading in worship multiple times a year, this choir ranges from burgeoning soloists, dedicated percussionists, creative lyricists, and much more. An annual highlight is the youth-led Youth Sunday service where graduating seniors are honored and the youth choir leads worship. Previous activities include a trip to see Jesus Christ Superstar, a tour of the sanctuary organ and a/v, and performing for Lessons & Carols in December. The youth choir enjoys a wide variety of music including classical, showtunes, folk hymns, spirituals, pop, gospel, and traditional music from around the globe.


Essential Job Functions:
• Understand and uphold the Child & Youth Protection Policy
• Lead weekly youth choir rehearsals
• Direct and musically accompany youth choir
• Select music & other artistic expressions to support the church mission and Senior Pastor’s vision
• Introduce and teach about diverse musicians/genres
• Manage music ministry volunteers’ schedule
• Assist Director of Music Ministry as needed
• Other duties as assigned


Ideal Candidate:
• Experience teaching voice and teaching instruments
• Proficiency in at least one musical instrument
• Experience working with children
• Experience in church/worship settings, choral music, and hymns
• Excitement around diverse styles of music
• Well organized and creative
• Familiarity with facilitating virtually (ie via Zoom)


Anticipated Schedule & Benefits:
• 10 hrs/week
• Flexible weekdays
• Must be available Sundays for worship at 10am and youth music at 4:30pm
• Pay: $200 per week
